Mattress Care and Unpacking Instructions
IMPORTANT UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS
Mattress products are compressed, and vacuum sealed for shipping convenience. Your mattress will be ready to use after 4 hours but may take between 24-48 hours to fully re-inflate to normal size. There may be a slight foam odour. This is normal and will dissipate in a short time. Please follow the directions below to avoid prolonged decompression time.
Unpack the mattress in a well-ventilated area. Please ensure you DO NOT use a knife to open as this may damage the mattress or mattress cover.
Discard any packaging materials. You may use the mattress the same day, but it is important to air out the bed as much as possible in the first few hours after unpacking.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The outer cover is removable but is difficult to clean once soiled. Stains larger than 10% of surface area or 15 square centimetres will void the Guarantee, so a mattress protector is recommended. Use a good-quality mattress pad to protect the foam from moisture. Care should be taken to avoid spills or moisture which will be absorbed by the surface foam if not properly protected. The guarantee will be void if no mattress protector has been used!!
FOR BEST RESULTS on all Breasley Mattresses
Leave the mattress completely uncovered for 24-48 hours so that the mattress can return to its normal shape and size, and any slight foam odour can escape and dissipate.
The enclosed mattress was designed with a single sleeping surface so that it does not require flipping. However, your mattress should be rotated 180 degrees every month for the first 6 months and then every three months thereafter to promote longevity and even wear. Your mattress must be supported by a firm, flat bed base. Examples include but are not limited to a firm platform bed base, a bed with adequate slats (gaps between slats should be no more than 7cm), or a sprung base if there is no excessive wear in the base springs i.e. the base spring should not be old and worn.
